Difference Between TCP Ping and HTTP Connection

The TCP Response Time is a measure of how long it takes a client (another computer or browser) to connect to your server by pinging your server.

The HTTP Response Time is a measure of how long it takes to actually establish a connection to your server. Typically, these times are very similar for the same time span.
