Monitoring DSL or Cable Modem Hosted Websites or Servers

If you host your website or server at home through a DSL or Cable Modem and want to monitor that site with AlertBot, please note the following compatibility issues. If your DSL or Cable Modem service provider has assigned you a static IP address, AlertBot will work just fine for you. However, if your service provider uses dynamic IP assignment, you should not use AlertBot. AlertBot thinks of IP address changes as failures. Since dynamic IP assignments result in your address being changed periodically, you would end up receiving an alert every time.
