Troubleshooting Test Error #129700 (HostNotInDNS)
Question / Issue: I received a Test Error #129700 named "HostNotInDNS" (or "Domain Not in Local DNS"). What does this really mean?
Symptoms/Cause: This error occurs when our test station attempts to run a test and is unable to locate the DNS record for your URL on the central DNS server that's nearest to the test station. This error will cause a failure.
Answer / Solution: Here are some possible solutions to aid you in troubleshooting this test error:
The DNS provider you're using has experienced an issue and was unreachable at the time when the DNS server near our test station tried refreshing its value for your domain name.
Your domain record with your domain registrar may have been misconfigured with the DNS servers.
The SOA record in your DNS configuration may have been misconfigured with the wrong DNS servers.
The URL you're monitoring is on a newly established site and DNS has not yet propagated from your DNS provider to the central DNS server our test station is using to look up your domain.
