Troubleshooting Test Error #194700 (HTTP302 Redrct)

Question / Issue: I received Test error #194700 named "HTTP302 Redrct" (or "HTTP302 Redirect Found"). What does this really mean?

Symptoms/Cause: This test error occurs when your server reports to our test station that the page it's trying to test is not at the URL specified and your server points us to a new URL where it believes the file is. Unless you have told the monitor it's all right to allow a redirect (see below), we will consider this error a failure. This is because website failures often use redirects to forward a user to an error page.

Answer / Solution: This error can be corrected by setting "Follow Redirects" to "True" inside of your monitor's configuration.

Do note that "Follow Redirects" should only be enabled if it is determined that the URL you're testing normally redirects. If the page does not normally redirect, you may want to keep this setting as "False". This is so if the page does redirect when it should not, you will receive an alert.
