Troubleshooting Test Error #219700 (HTTP500 Script)
Question / Issue: I received Test error #219700 named "HTTP500 Script" (or "HTTP500 Server Script"). What does this really mean?
Symptoms/Cause: This test error occurs when our test station is able to connect to your web server, but rather than sending an actual HTTP page, your server sends an HTTP500 error.
This error indicates that there's something in the code of the page being tested that is causing the code to fail or crash during its execution. This includes issues such as programming bugs, database connection failures, or problems accessing other back-end resources that the code references.
Answer / Solution: Here are some possible solutions to aid you in troubleshooting this test error:
Review our failure logs to view the screenshot that was captured for this error. Often times, the HTTP 500 error displays information on-screen that can provide information as to why or where the error occurred in the code.
Review your web server logs. Information regarding HTTP 500 errors are often logged there.
Additional information for HTTP 500 may also be found by reviewing your Operating system logs.
Ultimately, to clear this error, the code on your page will need to be edited to handle the error in a more robust way or corrected to prevent the error's occurrence.
