Troubleshooting Test Error #684700 (OverBandwidth)
Question / Issue: I received a Test Error #684700 named "OverBandwidth" (or "Bandwidth Overage Notice"). What does this really mean?
Symptoms/Cause: This warning occurs when a test requires additional bandwidth beyond what is allotted to the monitor. This is typically due to the amount or size of the files (such as images and JavaScripts) that you have on your pages. This warning will not cause a failure in and of itself. It is just a warning.
Answer / Solution: This error message is given as a courtesy to give you time to either reduce your website's bandwidth needs or to work with us to increase the bandwidth allotted to your monitor.
To find out what files are using up so much bandwidth on your website, run an On-Demand test (by clicking the "Test" button at the bottom of the test scenario’s edit form) and review the Waterfall results section to see all the files that your page is loading and their file sizes.
To reduce your bandwidth needs, contact your web developer for information regarding possible steps that could be taken to optimize your website.
If you are unable to further reduce the bandwidth needs of your page(s), please contact Help Desk for information on how to add bandwidth to your plan.
