Web Transaction HTTP Error Scanning Section
The Http Error Scanning section allows you to manage Http header scanning for your test scenario. The checkbox titled "Enable HTTP Error Scanning" controls whether or not errors are reported when files loaded by your pages have unacceptable Http Response status codes during a test. The Scanning Rules table contains descriptions of what will be tested during the scanning and what Http errors you've requested be ignored.
The dropdown menu below the table allows you to choose how errors are reported when they are detected. Choosing "Pass Test With Warning" will report the Http errors in the Test Reports within the Test Log and Test Kit, but will not consider them to be a critical failure. As such, these tests will not be considered "Passed" tests overall and will not generate any alerts. Choosing "Fail Test With Alert" will report Http errors in Test Reports within the Test Log and Test Kit and you will received alerts according to your Alerts schedule.
You may find that some rows in the Http Error Scanning section have Delete checkboxes that are disabled - you can't check or uncheck them. These scanning rows are kept in place in order to maintain a baseline scanning goal to be accomplished by your monitor. They are disabled because special provisioning is done to accomplish those goals. Currently, changing the base level goals can't be done by simply deleting a row. If you have a special exception or would like to alter the baseline goal of your monitor, please contact our Help Desk to have them make these changes for you.
New scanning rules can be added, in the case where you want to ignore some errors, by going to any Test Report (in the Test Log) or Real-time Test Report (using the Test button) and clicking on the "Ignore" links associated with errors on the list. Only errors that support "Ignores" will have the link next to it. Ignoring an HTTP Error will only apply the ignore rule to the scanning rules of the specific Monitor's Test Scenario that the test was run for. If you want to apply the same rule against other Test Scenarios and Monitors, you would need to click the Ignore link on tests from each of them.
