Web Transaction Step Time Limit Field

The Web Transaction Step Time Limit field allows you to specify the amount of time that may elapse while waiting for each step in your test script to complete. If any individual step takes longer than this time, the website will be deemed as responding too slowly and fail the test. For example, if your Step Time Limit value is set to 10 seconds, and during your test a page takes longer than 10 seconds to load, the test will fail and you will be alerted. This allows you to ensure that your website meets your performance requirements at all times.

We recommended that you use a Step Time Limit value of between 5 and 10 seconds depending on your performance requirements A page that takes more than 10 seconds is generally considered to be responding very slowly. However, you may not want to set a value that is too low as you may receive frequent alerts during short intermittent slowdowns.
