Why Alerts are Showing the Wrong Test Time

Typically this issue is seen when a user receives a monitor downtime alert and notices that the Test Time value in the Alert is displaying a time an hour or more earlier or behind the actual time they received the Alert. This would seem odd because they would have expected to receive the Alert very close to the last test time.

This issue is commonly caused when the Time Zone for the Contact configuration was set improperly. This misconfiguration causes us to adjust the Test Time in your Alert to the wrong Time Zone than the one you're actually in. That is why the Test Time in your alerts would be ahead or behind your local time.

To fix this issue, simply go to the Contacts List in the Monitors section in the AlertBot Manager. Then edit the Contact record of the person receiving the invalid Test Time values. Now select the correct Time Zone for this contact off the Region drop down list. Save your changes, and that should do the trick. Next time you get an Alert, it should display the correct Test Time values for your Time Zone.
