# Will Monitoring Affect My Routers, Switches, or Firewalls?

AlertBot uses all standard protocols and communication techniques so **it will not have any adverse effects** on your routers, switches, and firewalls. Our monitoring imitates how normal users communicate with your servers so our monitoring service has no more impact than a normal user.
