When I Get an Alert, How Do I Know What's Wrong?
Alerts will include a list of errors that our test stations find with your website or server. Due to message space constraints, SMS messages will only contain abbreviated error descriptions, while regular email alerts contain longer descriptions for each error. From these error messages you will be able to draw some conclusions as to what could be causing the error and take action accordingly.

We give you a couple options for receiving Alerts when your website or server encounters a failure. Here is the list of currently supported contact methods:
Standard Email - receive alerts at any standard internet email address.
SMS via Email - receive Alerts on any Cell Phone, Text Pager, or other mobile device that supports SMS messaging. This Contact Method requires you to use an email address provided to you by your mobile service provider to receive the SMS messaSome readersChanging the From Field Address in Emails & Alerts
If you would like a different From Field Address in the alerts and other emails your receive from AlertBot, please email this request to the Help Desk. In this email please tell us what email address you wish to receive the emails from and we will make the change promptly. This, presently, only applies to monitor alerts, but it will eventually apply to other emails as well.

The Contact Method Name field is meant to collect a user-friendly name for this Contact Method. An example of this user-friendly name is: “Biz Pager” or “Personal Cell” or “Office Email.” As you can see, this not only allows you to identify what type of contact it is, but also what the purpose of the contact is. This way if the same Contact has multiples of the same contact methods, you can distinguish them from each other.

Whenever an error is detected on your website or server we send out alerts to the scheduled contacts on the Alerts List. Once your website or server returns to normal operation, we send out a final Alert to all the contacts that were previously alerted and let them know that the website or server is back up. This final alert will serve as your indicator that your site is back up and running.Few readersAlert Schedules Status Field
The Alert Schedules Status Field is a drop down menu within the Alert Group that allows you to toggle the entire Alert Schedule between "Enabled" and "Disabled".
If the status is enabled, the Alert Schedule will be active and any monitors that are assigned to this Alert Schedule will receive alerts according to the Alert Schedule in addition to any individual contacts specified within the monitor's unique Alert Schedule.

The Alert Schedules Name Field is used to name a group of Alert Times, Contact Names, and monitors that you would like to share a common Alert Schedule.
Alert Schedules can be included within a monitor's Alert section, allowing you to quickly set up an alert schedule if many of your monitors would normally have the same core of contacts to alert if the monitor fails tests.Few readersAlert Schedules Notes Field
